Disney, Universal Studios and Harry Potter!

Well we are mid-week and I'm ready to have my legs amputated! Man I'm feeling my age these days... I went on the Incredible Hulk roller coaster with Drew yesterday and felt my brains rattling around my head! Not the same fun as when I was 20 let me tell you. But I'm still doing better than my poor husband who felt totally sick after riding Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey! HA! We saw that someone had puked after the ride and some wizards were cleaning it up and Tommy said "Why don't you just use your wand to clean it up?" After which I replied that they can use some of it for the vomit flavored Bertie Bott's every flavor beans! They looked mildly amused...

Tommy has been working like a dog as he always does during bowl trips. These trips are a vacation for the kids and me but certainly not for him. He's up first thing in the morning for meetings etc and then off to practice or any of the other activities they have planned for the team. Then he gets some time with us later in the day - he didn't get to us at Universal until 7 pm last night - and finally back to the hotel for bed check which was at 1 am last night. Ugh. I don't know how he does it. We spent our first park day at Disney then yesterday at Universal and had to get a return ticket to get into the Harry Potter park! It was packed elbow to elbow with people. Absolutely crazy! Totally worth it though as it's an amazing replica of Hogsmeade village and Hogwarts castle. Very very cool...

Cinderella's castle at night - quite beautiful

in Toon town at Universal

riding the Suess train for Jen who's not a fan of the big coasters

Zonko's - a bit of a disappointment. I wish they had done Weasley brothers joke shop

Hogwarts express

kids at Hogsmeade

Hogwarts - castle is amazing

Unbelievable luck! Tom Felton - the actor who plays Draco Malfoy was in the park filming a commercial!

chatting with the girls from Beauxbaton!

Olivanders - an amazing experience!

lucky Jen got picked by the wandmaster to have a wand select her!

trying spells with different wands...

Jen with her wand!

next door at the wand shop and Owlery - of course Tommy noticed the owl poop on the perches! Haha!

the Monster book of Monsters...it was moving around growling and biting

Finally - a selection is made!

outside Hogwarts

Hagrid's house

dueling wands...

Jen gets Hedwig!

Buckbeak!

this was very cool - animated Serius Black

inside the Three Broomsticks

inside Hogshead pub

Honeydukes! Jen got a chocolate frog and I got fudge flies. I refrained from Bertie Bott's every flavor beans because they REALLY do have vomit flavored beans in the box! Plus grass and dirt. I may cave and get em when we go back on Friday though...

the sorting hat in the castle right before you get on the ride which is absolutely AMAZING! Best ride I've ever been on!

Mom got some Butterbeer which is a very sweet tasting cream soda type drink that really does leave a cream mustache on your face like Hermione! What I really needed though was a Harps... maybe when we go back on Friday!

Capital One Bowl week - Orlando!

Well it's been awhile since I've updated and a LOT has happened! Let's see... to start my fabulous football team finished 11-1 and are Big ten Champions! They have broken so many records it's hard to remember! Most wins of any MSU football team, won ALL of their home games, first time winning in Happy Valley against Penn St since the 60's I think...and many many more. When we beat Bama and finish 12-1 it will be a capper to a tremendous season!

We arrived yesterday, Christmas Day in Orlando. Took a HUGE jet chartered for the team and got off in orlando to awaiting buses and a full police escort to the hotel. Traveling like the President! HAHA!

Nice Welcome to the Hotel!

Then it was back to work for Coach Hoke who finally had a few days off before Christmas to relax. Back to work on Christmas Day, team meeting and then bed check.

This morning's big event was Jennifer as honorary "duckmaster" for the Peabody ducks!

If you can believe it the Official Duckmaster is named Donald!

The ducks have a $100,000 penthouse to themselves and their own elevator!

getting ready to get the ducks

here they come!

people all crowded and elbowed to see them as soon as we got off the elevator so hard to get any pics

Time for Mom to take a nap before this evenings festivities and we are off to Disney with the team tomorrow. Stay tuned for more blogging this week!

hope I have enough energy for "excessive celebration"!
